“Picnic at Star Circle” was created in a very free relationship of the artist to the room, the night and the tape medium. The result is a print of something archaic, tender and fierce. At times you’re not sure what you’re hearing and then your mind begins to choose, shining a light on how we co-create music through our listening. What you thought you heard is gone, and does it even matter now? Like a human’s fragmented shield the surrounding nature grows up around it. Forgotten and then unearthed years after completion, this recording carries an invitation to the listener to remain open to a field of possible interpretations.
