***INSURGENCE DC (formerly Insurgence) are a punk band that was formed in 1987 in Raleigh, NC. From 1987 until 1999 the band played over 400 shows and had numerous EPS and singles as well as two highly critically acclaimed releases that were recorded and co produced by David Barbe in Athens, GA. The band scaled back on playing in the late 1990s when member BILL DALY opened up the record store Crooked Beat Records. They went on official hiatus in 2000 and did not return to playing shows in 2013. The band currently has members living in Washington DC and In Raleigh NC. The letters DC (DA CAPO) have been added to band name to avoid confusion of others bands currently playing who are using the name Insurgence. "Da Capo" signifies " from the beginning" since this is what the band is doing by going back and starting over after being on hiatus for so many years. These new songs are Insurgence DC first recordings in 14 years and the first with the original lineup from their their highly touted album Ripe For The Trade Off from 1995. A full length LP is also currently being worked on and will be released in the coming year.
