***Formed in 2022, the Obliques are Angus Gering [Vocals + Guitar], Donivan Russell [Bass], Jackson Steffens [Vocals + Guitar], and Pablo Blackwell [Drums]. We are a garage band by association (we play in a garage), but it’s hard to classify our music as one particular genre or label because of our differing influences and desire to be expressive in so many ways. We may be punk, but to us punk is old, and we are young. Some songs are fast, some slow, some noisy and deranged, and some thoughtful and smooth. The four of us have very different tastes in music, but there is some underlying ethos that links us together and allows us to create something unique and new. Whatever this ethos is, be it artistic vision or mere farce, it held us together long enough to make this music.
