***Street Fruit is a Los Angeles quartet with roots going back to 1991: Hans Dobbratz (vocals), Philipp Minnig (guitar/vocals), Tiffanie Lanmon (drums/vocals), and Cyrus Gengras (bass/vocals). Strange Tanks is their sophomore album—recorded on 2" tape by Jimmy Dixon at 64 Sound and Homestead Studios—and fnds the band at their most dynamic and unpredictable. Equal parts garage rock, post-punk, and freak-pop, the record slithers between seediness and melody with near-telepathic band chemistry and a dark, surreal wit.
