***False Flag is a female fronted San Francisco punk band formed in 2021 who gained recognition over the years for their crazy DIY punk shows in San Francisco with their mission to create a space for women in a male-dominated scene. False Flag is well known for teaming up with Surprise Privilege (another San Francisco band) to throw punk shows in unconventional spaces, such as moving BART trains, abandoned factories, Chinese restaurants and many historical street corners throughout San Francisco."Gun Time" is the fifth release on "F.Y.J.F.Y.", a local label co-founded by Pretty Sims, singer and bassist of False Flag. Limited run of 200 on opaque yellow vinyl. This album combines a mix of power violence, hardcore and punk which creates a heavy and fast moving flow. It includes a featured track titled "Getaway" which has a more of a post punk influence, which adds a refreshing creative touch to the album.False Flag aims to keep the San Francisco punk scene alive through hosting DIY shows throughout the city as well as establishing community spaces such as "I Hate Records," a volunteer-run record store in the Lower Haight neighborhood of San Francisco. False Flag has a lot of plans for the future, and their dedication to keeping the San Francisco punk scene alive is a major part of it. This is False Flag's third album which leans into a more hardcore direction while still keeping the punk attitude displayed in their two previous releases.
