***DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT was founded in February 2009 by NIKITA and TOBIAS in Würzburg, Bavaria with the release of the band’s first selt-titled record. However, the concept and idea that underlie DWEF were formed some one and a half years earlier, when, following the disbandment of predecessor band FROSTGRIM, there continued to exist the creative urge to express oneself lyrically and musically through melodic and atmospheric Black Metal.
