***First ever reissue! This rare LP has been out of print for over 50 years. This is COLOURED BALLS' legendary 1973 LP recorded live at their breakout appearance at the iconic Sunbury '73 Pop Festival. The Sunbury Pop Festival ran from 1972-1975 and featured a who's who of Aussie groups such as Coloured Balls, Wild Cherries, Billy Thorpe & The Aztecs, Skyhooks, etc. plus imported acts such as Queen and Deep Purple. The sound is huge and phenomenal. Guest appearances by fellow Aussie legends BILLY THORPE and LEO CASTRO. This features their iconic masterpiece "G.O.D." (Guitar OverDrive), a 16 minute hypnotic and pulverizing journey in sound. All-analog pressing using the original 1973 master tapes for the highest quality possible. Mastered by LOBBY LOYDE's close friend and bandmate in Billy Thorpe & The Aztecs, GIL MATTHEWS.

***THIRD WORLD WAR vocalist/chopper guitarist TERRY STAMP’s criminally obscure and exceptionally brilliant debut solo album is back in print for the first time since 1975. Recorded in October 1974, about 15 months after his previous outfit, Third World War, finally called it a day. Terry is backed by a killer crew of ringers consisting of his old TWW cohort, bassist JIM AVERY (ex-THE ATTACK, THUNDERCLAP NEWMAN), in addition to lead guitarist OLLIE HALSALL (TIMEBOX, PATTO, BOXER), pianist MIKE MORAN (DAVID BOWIE) and the latter-day T. REX rhythm section with HERBIE FLOWERS (he of "Walk On The Wild Side" bass line fame) and drummer TONY NEWMAN (SOUNDS INCORPORATED). This album didn't have much of a chance upon its original release in July 1975: no promotion, no label support, and Terry had already bailed the UK for the greener pastures of America by the time it was released. This album is another case of Just Add Water Records having the chance to right history's wrongs by shining a light on a very deserving release that was literally ignored/shunned upon its initial release. We also changed the running order, because the original one is baffling at best and Terry didn't agree with it. It flows much better now. Opening track, "Itchy Feet", wasn't even supposed to end up on the finished album as it was deemed a bit too raw for the label's taste. It was eventually tucked away as the last track on the original album. What you are hearing is literally...

***Back with a bang! The new single from Oakland's only rock n roll band. This comes hot on the heels of their triumphant return to Gonerfest. SO WHAT picks up right where they left off with their previous "Deep Freeze" single, another banger inspired by 70s Aussie Rock a la Bon Scott-era AC/DC and Coloured Balls. The lads even offered 'Hit The Bricks" to AC/DC, but they passed, saying, "No mates, it's simply too good. Everyone will know we didn't write it." Real rock n roll for real rock n roll people.

***This is the first-ever collection of recordings by Bristol, UK's highly underrated Shakane. Double album. 23 tracks and 3 are previously unreleased, clocking in at 75 minutes. It boggles the mind that no one has bothered to gather all these amazing tracks in one place. Shakane originally released two now-pricey LPs. One, only released in Italy, and another only available in Sweden. In addition to their two long-players, they put out several singles on several labels. It's no wonder their legacy has been sorely under-served—until now. In modern times they are mostly known for their songs "Love Machine" and "Gang Man", but there is so much more to explore. This has singles, deep album cuts and the aforementioned unreleased tunes. This 2LP encompasses nearly their entire discography. We left off a few of their acoustic numbers in favor of three superb previously unreleased tacks: "Lazy River", "Save Me" and "Lola". Shakane was never tied down to one particular genre. Bubblegum, power pop, glam, psych, harmony-based folk, etc. They did it all. Music of this quality never stays buried forever. Informative liners by Steve Krakow complete the package. Edition of 500 copies on black vinyl.

***"PROWLER featured the wildly prolific team of MARTIN BRILEY and BRIAN ENGEL from such faves as MANDRAKE PADDLE STEAMER, STARBUCK 'Do You Like Boys', LIVERPOOL ECHO, SHAMBLES 'Hello Baby', TRUE ADVENTURE, etc. This is not really a reissue per se because the original uncensored version has never been released on vinyl before. It was released in a censored form as the oddly titled 'Pale Green (Hmmmm) Driving Man' in 1972. The BBC’s policy at the time would not allow a commercial product or brand name being used. Same reason The Kinks had to re-record 'Lola' for the single version substituting 'chery cola' in place of 'Coca-Cola'. Prowler masked the offending 'Vauxhall' auto brand name in their song with a Moog (played by Chris Thomas) sort of replicating an accelerating car. The fact that you can clearly hear the word 'Vauxhall' several other times outside of the chorus didn’t seem to phase anyone. It was all for naught. The Beeb didn’t play it anyway. The subject matter alone, a kerb crawler searching the streets for unwitting victims tempted by his tainted 'sticky brandy balls' sweets would warrant a ban from The Beeb regardless. The unique B-side 'I’m Your Leading Man', a demo from 1972, has never appeared on vinyl before. As always, we provide more bang for the buck!" 300 pressed.

***Terry’s follow-up to his fantastic 1975 album Fatsticks will finally be heard! Blue Redondo was recorded during 1977-1978 after he had relocated from London to El Segundo, California and still owed his label another album. They passed on the material and the tapes sat in storage until the early 2000s when Terry had the material pressed onto short run CDs to sell at his local solo gigs and via mail order. This the first time any of the tunes have been available on vinyl, lovingly recovered from the original master tapes by Jessica Thompson and mastered by Sean M. Lennon. This is somehow drinking music and “Sunday morning coming down” music at the same time. Terry puts on a master class in songwriting over these twelve tracks. Pairs perfectly with our double album of Terry’s home demos Twenty Rough Rotters. Fact. Simply put, Terry is one of the most underrated songwriters of the past 50 years. He got his start in the early 60s playing bass for Mike Rabin and The Demons, the house band at the Wimbledon Palais, supporting the likes of The Kinks and The Rolling Stones. After the Palais closed, he was hired as a songwriter for Schroeder Music in ‘68. He soon connected with Jim Avery (ex-Attack, Thunderclap Newman) and formed the axis of underground heroes, Third World War, the best bit of aggro ever, pre-figuring the UK Punk explosion by a good five years. After TWW, Terry released his debut solo album Fatsticks, an incredible...

It is a Lobby original and was in fact one of the earliest COLOURED BALLS tunes dating from early ‘72. The ‘Balls never ended up recording it. A few months after their split in early ‘75, Lobby recorded it with him on lead vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards, JIMMY THOMPSON (ex- Vince Maloney Sect, Tony Worley & The Blue Jays and Billy Thorpe & The Aztecs on drums, plus PAUL DIXSON on sax. Their incredible Yes It Is LP completely flopped in 1971 and their label, Phillips Records, just didn’t want to know. They were still under contract as Rockin’ Horse so they got around that by releasing this single as "ATLANTIS" on their producer HAL CARTER's Fury label in 1972. ***In glorious MONO as nature intended. First time ever reissue of this absolutely savage Maximum R&B / Freakbeat stomper. We love The Sorrow, but we’ve always preferred The Boys Blue original versions. Although The Boys Blue were the first group to record Miki Dallon’s “You Got What I Want” and “Take a Heart”, with both tracks soon after covered by The Sorrows. The Boys Blue had no connection to The Sorrows, other than sharing the same producer, as has sometimes been suggested. Coventry lads, The Boys Blue, were formed in 1964 by vocalist Jeff Elroy. Bass player Tony Hart knew a guitarist, Michael Holloway who knew a drummer, Paul Colletto with this quartet becoming The Boys Blue. Singer Jeff Elroy was friends with budding songwriter Miki Dallon, resulting in the group recording two of his compositions for their lone single with Miki also producing the two tracks. The Boys Blue backed Miki Dallon during his own vocal sessions on at least six occasions. The Boys Blue also appeared on Thank Your Lucky Stars in June 1965 with The Rolling Stones, The Kinks and Lulu. A scheduled tour in 1965 with Chuck Berry with The Boys Blue as a support act was cancelled at the last minute, resulting in their having to give back all the new equipment they had just received. The group disbanded soon after in 1966. Producer Miki Dallon has also worked with some of our faves like The New York Dolls, Don Fardon, Elias Hulk, Shakane and...

***Heavy Metal Kid was the last album Coloured Balls recorded during their all too brief three-year existence. It's often overlooked due to the enormous impact and success their preceding album Ball Power had on Australian music. Coming into 1974, they were at the peak of their powers as a group. Ball Power was racing up the charts, they were one of Australia's biggest live draws and they made a triumphant return to the Sunbury festival stage. Heavy Metal Kid was a natural progression for the band that could not be pigeonholed. They were still bringing their unique mix of proto punk, hard rock, blues, space rock, progressive and 50s rock n roll, but they expanded their sonic palette to include even a piano ballad and spaced-out ARP synthesizers. Fun fact- Lobby Loyde, in addition to being an absolutely stunning guitarist, was a classically trained pianist. Each copy comes with both a poster and lyric insert. This is the first time this album was been released in America. ***"It's a dream to release not one, but both iconic singles by Junkshop glam titans HECTOR. First up is their debut from '73, "Wired Up." In a perfect world, this would have topped the charts and The Osmonds would have struggling to make ends meet. Alas, it is a well known fact that quality cannot be shoved down the public's throat. In spite of loads of coverage in the teen mags and even TV appearances—fame and fortune were not in the cards for Hector. "Wired Up" goes for the jugular from the get-go with that throbbing single note riff pulverizing your senses. How can a song this incredibly catchy not be a smash? Politics, and the fickle whims of the BBC, who never gave the record a chance. See Trevor White's masterpiece "Crazy Kids" for another sterling example that the world isn't fair. Here it is available again for the first time since 1973 in it's original format, our fave, the almighty 7" 45 rpm single. Enjoy, true believers. ***This album was recorded in 1977 and produced by Status Quo’s Francis Rossi. Shockingly, this album has never been released on vinyl until now. It originally came out on CD in 1992 and is now long out of print and even that goes for good coin. John Du Cann’s stellar career included freakbeat heroes The Attack (“Magic In The Air”), psych/prog legends Andromeda, and the group he’s best known for, Atomic Rooster. Du Cann wrote their their #4 hit single “Devil’s Answer.” A couple of years later he was in Daemon, later renamed Bullet, then Hard Stuff. In 1974 he was even a temporary guitarist for a Thin Lizzy German tour. In 1977, he was signed to the same management company as Status Quo, who paired him with Quo leader, Francis Rossi. The resulting album, “The World’s Not Big Enough” included Rossi on guitar, Andy Bown (The Herd, Judas Jump, Status Quo) on keyboards, Pete Kircher (Honeybus, Status Quo, Liverpool Express) on drums, and John McCoy (Ian Gillian, Tyla Gang, U.K. Subs) on bass. Basically, this is Du Cann backed by Status Quo at their Belt Buckle Boogie peak. A few songs from this album appeared on killer late 70s Punxploitation singles “Throw Him Jail,” “Don’t Be A Dummy” (a UK Top 40 hit!), and “Where’s The Show.” This album has been described as “Quo mixed with the Sex Pistols,” and we can’t disagree with that assessment.

***This slice of West London AGGRO is back in print for the first time since 1972! Remastered from the original tapes. We are thrilled to reissue one of our all-time favorite singles. It really should have been a double A-side. TERRY STAMP and JIM AVERY (ex-THE ATTACK, THUNDERCLAP NEWMAN) hold the distinction of forming probably the UK's first, for real, “aggro” band. THIRD WORLD WAR Formed in London at the turn of the '70s, Third World War released two proto-punk albums (Fly Records and Track Records) in the 1971 & 1972 respectively. Third World War featured an aggression unheard of at that time. With Terry Stamp’s explosive vocals, lyrics, chopper guitar style and Jim Avery’s West London, hardnut, two-fisted, riff and chord approach proved unbeatable (even forty plus years on). Their socio-political agenda and proto-punk guitar style prefigured the emergence of UK “working-class” punk bands by some five years. They were also being demonized by the conservative press for violence, both real and imagined, at their gigs. “Around And Around” dates from their final recording session from early ‘75 and has never been released on vinyl before. This is, hands down, COLOURED BALLS’ most soulful track. It’s heavily influenced by the Muscle Shoals sound. If you can imagine—hink Etta James “I’d Rather Go Blind” era with a wah-wah and even a talk box for added effect given the Coloured Balls treatment. Cover is printed with a special metallic silver ink, these mock-ups don't do it proper justice!

***BACK IN PRINT!!! Their first recordings! Before Ball Power (1973). Before Heavy Metal Kid (1974). Proto Punk / Boogie / Blues / Progressive / Psych / '50s Rock 'n Roll / Pure Pop that still cannot be pigeonholed. Back in print for the first time in over 40 years. After vocalist/lead guitarist LOBBY LOYDE had blazed a trail in THE PURPLE HEARTS, WILD CHERRIES, and THE AZTECS, he formed COLOURED BALLS and Australian rock 'n roll has never been the same. Recorded in late October/early November ‘72, but not issued until May ‘76. Shortly after it was recorded in ‘72, their manager left their label, Havoc Records, and took Coloured Balls with him. He then secured them a deal with EMI Records who were offered the chance to release what became The First Supper Last or Scenes We Didn't Get To See. It was originally slated to be titled Rock Your Arse Off!. EMI declined, saying the recordings were too raw and that there were too many different musical styles to market—which is, of course, two of the band’s greatest strengths. The album was finally released in ‘76 when Lobby signed a new solo record deal with Rainbird Records to issue his Obsecration album, the tapes for First Supper Last were also dusted off for release. Sadly, Rainbird Records folded soon after it was issued, which is why original copies can fetch $400+. It’s been out of print ever since, until now. Includes detailed liners by IAN MCFARLANE with...

***BACK IN STOCK!!! First-time-ever unique pairing of two of COLOURED BALLS' most savage bangers. Talk about being ahead of your time. This would have been right at home on Chiswick Records circa '76. If only EMI Australia would have had the *balls* to release "Won't You Make Up Your Mind" as a single back in ‘73. Punk would have started three years earlier in Australia if that had been the case. It ended up as an album track on their godhead Ball Power long player. “Devil’s Disciple," one of their greatest tunes, was originally relegated to the b-side of their September ‘73 single “Mess Of The Blues.” "Won't You Make Up Your Mind" has never appeared on a 7" before and this the first time "Devil's Disciple" has been available on vinyl since it was originally released.

***Oakland's SO WHAT is back with a bang with a hit single to follow-up their late 2016 long-player Hard Gum! We detect a heavy whiff of hard-nut Antipodean style grit on the stellar A-side, "Deep Freeze," A steady diet of '70s Australia's finest—and we mean all things Vanda and Young related—will do that. Pure, no nonsense knuckle-dragger Rock n Roll that definitely carries on the spirit of early AC/DC, Marcus Hook Roll Band, Coloured Balls, etc. Exclusive B-side scorcher, "Razor Blade," a long-time live fave that is equals parts terrace stomper and Slade-esque boogie, has finally been committed to vinyl.

***This slice of glam/power pop perfection is available again for the first time since 1974! You have to wonder why a song as incredibly catchy as "Turtle Dove" wasn't a mega smash. Maybe the lyrics were too bawdy for the BBC? The flip side was definitely much too much for the Beeb. "Oxford Donna" is a tender song about a former Oxford pupil who just likes a gang bang now and again! T. Rex's Marc Bolan was a fan and friend of lead singer/songwriter DAVID KUBINEC (ex-WORLD OF OZ). Marc even said to Kubie after hearing "Turtle Dove," "I should have written that!" In fact, David has stated that "Turtle Dove" was very much written with T. Rex in mind. If you were wondering why it's "KUBIE and the RATS" now, instead of just "RATS" as it was originally released, the group was never intended to be just "RATS", that was their management's decision. The group was built around David "Kubie" Kubinec and he wrote and sang all the songs. He later went on to a solo career and notably, his second album, Some Things Never Change, was produced by The Velvet Underground's John Cale. Sourced directly from producer ADRIAN MILLER's masters. This a one-time pressing of 500—once it's gone, it's gone.

***BACK IN PRINT!!! Just Add Water originally released this as a single in 1996. Hands down, one of our favorite Just Add Water releases. We've always thought THE BELTONES are what Stiff Little Fingers would have sounded if they had grown up in Florida eating at Waffle House. It's finally back in print with an ADDED BONUS TRACK of the original version of "Juvenile Delinquent." These are the ORIGINAL 1996 versions of these songs. They later re-recorded most of their early material. Edition of 300 on purple vinyl.
