***Emmett O.C of MK Ultras and Archie & The Bunkers first ever solo endeavor—9 From The Warped Mind is a culmination of isolationist griftings that are reminiscent of lost 80s demo-tapes and found reels that had been left to disintegrate in dark dingy basements. Aggressive synth-punk tunes and lonesome organ-driven doo wop abound in this collection of tracks. Emmett uses a myriad of broken synthesisers, off-tempo drum machines, out-of-tune guitars and his warped mind to concoct an original listening experience. 9 Songs From The Warped Mind is a soundtrack for a drifter wandering through a wayward, industrial shell. A world past its prime; a husk of society disintegrating before everyone's eyes. Limited to 150 copies on transparent green vinyl.

***On their follow up to 2024's National Threat Detroit’s FEN FEN strives to once again immortalize the band’s raw punk frenzy onto wax. Recorded by bassist Ben Taber in the band’s eastside Detroit basement, tracks range in style from gnarled proto-punk to squealing breakneck rock n roll. Think of your favorite Killed By Death tracks meeting the needle of a sewing machine dead-set on driving straight through your eardrums. Fast and foreboding songs give way to absurdist themes that will be sure to rile up any wasteoid with a short attention span. Listen loud, quit your job, bite your dog. Limited to 150 copies.

***Missed Hits is the fourth Long Player from La Rochelle, France’s own Snot Rock machine Bart and the Brats. Eleven new tracks recorded, as usual, with wizard of weird Lo’Spider at Swampland in Toulouse, but this time mastered by one Jim Kuczkowski, a name you might remember from eye-licking your beloved Rip Off Records record covers… Yes, the blood relations are obvious, with the black and white, cut and paste front, the Kids’ cover and whatnot, but there’s more than that here. "Nothing Too Bad", for example, is also a nod to more contemporary gunk and fans of the Spits and all their descendancy will be pleased with the various delights they’ll find on this platter released by Nashville’s Sweet Time Records.

***"Element 115 is a mysterious, superheavy element that has 115 protons in its nucleus. It is said in the UFO community to be the power source for dimension bending alien spacecraft. It is also found in the tone of Timmy Vulgar’s gravity defying riffs. To describe Timmy’s Organism as heavy, is as fundamental in concept to our human existence as the drone of blood pumping in beat to our hearts. Guitarist & singer Vulgar, bassist Jeff “Giant’ Fournier, and Scott Dunk on drums, plug into a tradition as hallowed as Ron Asheton’s fuzz pedal on The Stooges's first album or Lemmy’s low end hypnosis on Hawkwind's Doremi. But Timmy’s Organism is more. They are their own thing. The new LP Lone Lizard is as confounding, twisted, solid, and heavily out-of-this-world as any sonic offering in the last 300 years... as if all the previous Organism records, and those of Vulgar’s past groups Clone Defects, Human Eye, and Epileptix never existed… or have always existed. Timeless is the rhythm. The musicianship and sense of arrangement on Lone Lizard is jazz-esque in its double-commitment to loose precision. Lyrically, the record ranges from "Peyote Moments" surreal truths: "Like the ancient ways of the secyalapoid... bring me back to the desert where the serpents lie in the sun. Telling their fibs into my ears, I will not hear!" to the naked-to-the-bone vulnerability of "Tracy Trouble": "My heart melting continues, I just wanted a sober kiss. Like our young love days! But the dealer stole...

***Memphis has garnered a reputation for producing some of the wildest, freaky punk rock over the last 40 years—a thread running through acts like The Oblivians, Lost Sounds and Nots. More recently newcomers MODEL ZERO have created a fresh brand of psych-leaning punk to River City. Formed by members of EX-CULT, AQUARIAN BLOOD and JACK OBLIVIAN'S SHEIKS, Model Zero make bouncy, low-fidelity guitar grooves and analog synthesizer squeals that chase a motorik beat and never stray too far off into the tackiness of jam territory.
